Sherry Johnson is a 38 year old clergywoman from Green Bay. She lives in a small, one story brick home in the outskirts of town. Sherry has been a devout Catholic ever since her awakening at the age of 18. Despite her faith, she does not identify with any religious faction, instead preferring to spread God's word on an independent basis. Inspired by her mother's stories of church before the apocalypse, Sherry's dream is to one day preach the Word to as large a flock as she can. To that end, she spends her days out and about in town, spreading the good Word to those who may need it most.
Sherry didn't always live such a pious life. She was born to a single mother, who did her very best to give Sherry a stable home. Even so, Sherry rebelled in her teenage years. She ran off with boys, drank bathtub liquor, and broke into buildings. She stayed out for days at a time, giving her mother fits. This went on until her mother died on Sherry's 18th birthday. Suddenly, there was no safety net. There was no safe place to come home to, no one to cook hot meals and brush her hair and tell her everything might just be alright. Sherry was utterly lost, spending entire days drinking herself stupid.
Her life changed once again, as they often do, with a chance meeting. Sherry was looking for something, anything to eat, when she spotted a man walking down the street alone. She snuck up behind him, intending to steal the bag he was carrying and sell the contents for a few water tokens. To her surprise, when she snatched the bag up, the man just let it go, like he wanted her to have it. He didn't even seem surprised. Inside, she found a couple tokens, some cans of food, and a copy of the King James bible. Spurred by curiosity, Sherry started to read that bible over her dinner of carrot slices and water. She read it all the way through in the following days, and then read it again. The words brought Sherry a kind of hope she had never known. Eventually, Sherry decided to dedicate her life to that book and spreading its meaning to others.
Sherry stands 5'4 and has a very slim, almost frail build. She abhors violence, but will defend herself with a shiv if it's a matter of life and death. Sherry's goal is to open a large church like in the days before the apocalypse, and bring hope to others the way it was brought to her. Sherry is welcoming to strangers, often seeking to share the word of God with them.
